Compress PDF to 100 KB

Compress a PDF to 100 KB or less, online and free. Many upload portals and online forms only accept documents up to 100 KB: a certificate, an ID card, a signed letter or a one-page receipt. Upload your PDF and TypeorDrop finds the best quality that still fits under 100 KB, then shows you the new size before you download it. Nothing to install, and you can start without an account.

How to use Compress PDF to 100 KB

  1. Choose your PDF: Drag and drop the PDF onto the upload area, or tap to browse. 100 KB is already selected for you.
  2. Compress to 100 KB: Click Compress. Images in the PDF are scaled down and recompressed step by step, stopping as soon as the file fits under 100 KB.
  3. Check and download: You see the old size, the new size and how much smaller it is. Download it and upload it to the portal.

FAQ

Can every PDF be compressed to 100 KB?

No. One or two scanned pages usually fit easily. A long, multi-page scan may not reach 100 KB even at the lowest quality, because every page still needs some space. A long text document can also stay above 100 KB, since its size comes from text and fonts, not images. In that case you get the smallest version we could make and the result screen says so.

What can I do if my PDF won't go under 100 KB?

Upload only the pages the form asks for: use Split PDF to keep those pages, then compress again. Scanning in black and white or at a lower resolution also helps a lot.

Will the document still be readable?

Usually yes for one or two pages. To fit 100 KB, scans and photos are saved at a lower resolution, so small print on a scanned page can look softer. Check the result before you submit it.

Will compression lower the quality?

Images are made smaller first: they are scaled down and saved with stronger JPEG compression, step by step, only as far as needed to reach your size. Text stays sharp because it is not turned into an image. At the smallest sizes, photos and scanned pages look softer.

What is the maximum file size?

You can upload PDFs up to 50 MB and up to 500 pages. Password-protected PDFs that need a password to open can't be compressed; remove the password first.

What happens to forms, signatures and PDF/A?

Compression rewrites the file. Text, images, links and page order are kept, but PDF/A status is not kept, interactive form fields may not survive, and any digital signature becomes invalid because the file has changed. Keep your original if you need any of those.

Is it free?

Yes. You can compress up to 2 PDFs a day without an account, and 10 a day with a free account. Pro removes the daily limit (fair use) and ads for $4 per month or $38.40 per year.

Are my files safe?

Your file is uploaded over an encrypted connection and processed on our servers. Uploaded files are deleted automatically after about 24 hours, and compressed results after 7 days. We don't share your files with anyone.
